Receipt versus execution
A 202 means an event was durably accepted or ignored. The receipt and its Platform Run commit in one transaction. A failed admission rolls back both so the sender can retry the same logical event. A crash after admission leaves the ordinary Run worker able to recover that admitted task.

}Diagnose ignored events
An ignored receipt has no new execution. Inspect its reason before retrying:
- Any source can ignore events whose payload fields do not match configured filters.
- Generic triggers can ignore events outside their configured event list.
- GitHub ignores pings, other repositories, unselected events/actions, draft PRs when configured, unauthorized or non-command comments, and unselected workflow conclusions.
- Parseable records resolved and disabled states without work by default.
- Grafana and Alertmanager record recovery without work by default and fence stale occurrences.
An ignored event can be a healthy integration check. Resending the same event after changing configuration does not rewrite its original receipt or target.
Deduplication by source
| Source | Retry behavior |
|---|---|
| Generic | Same logical ID and event data return the original receipt; changed data under the same ID conflicts |
| GitHub | Signed body digest also deduplicates even if the delivery header changes |
| Parseable | Repeated notifications for the same alert identity and state reuse the receipt |
| Grafana / Alertmanager | Same label identity, startsAt occurrence and state reuse the receipt; older occurrences cannot restart work |
For HMAC, re-sign retries using the current timestamp and the original delivery ID and body. Parseable does not require a Sandpi delivery header; its adapter handles alert identity and transitions.
Admission limits
Each trigger admits at most 60 new deliveries per minute and 100 pending executions. Request bodies are limited to 1 MiB, and rendered instructions to 100,000 characters. Duplicate retries do not consume new-delivery capacity. Native alert receivers accept up to 60 distinct alert identities per batch and rolls back the entire batch if admission fails.
Rate limits, queue capacity, credit, Project budget and model availability can prevent new work. Use bounded backoff for transient admission failures and keep the event identity stable. These are admission limits, not a fixed batching window that combines different accepted generic events.
Troubleshoot delivery
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| 401 | Correct trigger secret, authentication mode, raw signed bytes and HMAC clock freshness |
| 400 mapping error | Template references a field absent from this event shape |
| 409 identity conflict | Same delivery ID reused with changed event data |
| 413 | Raw body exceeds the receiver byte limit |
| 429 | New-delivery rate; keep the same identity when retrying |
| Accepted but no output yet | Run queue, provider availability, credit, budget and execution state |
| Ignored receipt | Source filter, GitHub action or Parseable transition |
A sender timeout may follow successful admission. Retry the original identity and inspect delivery history before inventing a new ID. Once work was admitted, diagnose and control the existing Run rather than replaying the event to recover execution.

}Rotation takes effect immediately and returns the new secret once. Update every sender: GitHub’s Secret, Parseable’s Basic password or your generic sender’s HMAC/bearer secret. Listing definitions and receipts never reveals it. If creation succeeded but its response was lost, list the trigger and rotate its secret rather than creating a duplicate blindly.
Disable or remove a trigger
Replace the definition with enabled: false, or delete it, to stop new admission. Previously accepted work keeps its immutable instructions and target and continues. Stop the existing Run separately if needed. Archived Environments and disabled owners cannot accept new work.
